Managing the Zalando Partner Program Shipping Document Generation in Koongo

Koongo manages the generation of Zalando-required shipping documents differently depending on the logistics method you use. Below, you will be able to find an overview of how document generation works for all logistics options supported through the Zalando Partner Program.

The Zalando Shipping Documents feature is available through Standard and Premium Koongo plans only. You have the option to upgrade your Koongo plan within My Plan & Pricing section.

If you’re using a higher-tier plan, you can already enable document generation for each Zalando country market. This can be done by adjusting the corresponding settings within every order connection within Koongo > Orders > Connections.

1. Zalando Shipping Solutions (ZSS)

When using Zalando Shipping Solutions, Zalando itself provides all mandatory shipment documents.

How it works

  • After Koongo sends the shipment request to Zalando, Zalando generates the shipping label and the return label.

  • Koongo retrieves the documents from Zalando.

  • You can select if the order should now be set as "shipped" at Zalando or wait until it has been set as "shipped" in your store.

  • The labels are added to the shipment in Koongo and, if supported, made available in your store.

  • Koongo automatically inserts download links to these documents as:

    • Order comments, or

    • Order notes

  • All document handling is automated—no manual action is required.

2. Using Your Own Logistics

If you do not use any Zalando-provided logistics (ZSS, ZSSv2, or Return Services), Koongo takes care of generating the required Zalando-compliant documents.

Koongo automatically produces all the mandatory Zalando documents, including:

  • Zalando Versanddokument (shipping document)

  • Return form/return instructions

  • Any additional Zalando-required shipment paperwork based on channel requirements

Where the Documents Are Stored

  • All generated documents are stored directly in the Order > Comments section in Koongo.

Links Added to Your Store

Koongo automatically inserts download links to these documents as:

  • Order comments, or

  • Order notes

(depending on the integration of your platform)

This ensures quick and consistent access to all required Zalando shipment documentation for packing and fulfilment.

3. Zalando Return Services

All Zalando return methods are supported, ZRS Plus, ZRS Pure, etc. Just ask our support team about the needed settings.
